Welcome to Ordsall Primary School

from the Headteacher, Mr Karl Hopkinson

Welcome to Ordsall Primary School!

I am delighted to welcome you to our school community, where we are proud to Play, Learn and Grow Together. It is a privilege to be the Headteacher of Ordsall and our aim is to ensure that every child feels happy, valued and supported to be the very best they can be.

At Ordsall, children are at the heart of everything we do. Our dedicated and caring staff work together to create a safe, inclusive and nurturing school where everyone feels a sense of belonging. We believe that children learn best when they feel secure, respected and understood, and this is reflected in our approach to teaching, behaviour and wellbeing.

We provide a broad, ambitious and engaging curriculum that builds knowledge, develops skills and inspires a love of learning. Alongside high academic expectations, we offer a wide range of opportunities, including educational visits, visitors, clubs and enrichment activities, helping children discover new interests, develop their talents and broaden their horizons.

Our RESPECT values — Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork — are at the heart of school life. Through these values and our RESPECT Curriculum, we help children develop positive relationships, understand and celebrate differences, manage their emotions and learn how to keep themselves and others safe. Together, these help create a positive and respectful school community where everyone can thrive.

We are always delighted to welcome visitors to Ordsall. We believe the best way to get a feel for our school is to see it in action, meet our wonderful children and staff, and experience the positive atmosphere that makes Ordsall such a special place to learn and grow.
