Celebrating and saying goodbye.

Another academic year has come to an end with an emotional Year 6 Leavers Assembly.  Thank you to each one of our amazing parents and carers who support their children on their primary school journey.

Alongside saying farewell to our Year 6 pupils, we have also said goodbye to three staff members.  Mrs Cooper, our school cook, has retired after working at Ordsall for 33 years!  Mrs Cooper was treated to an afternoon tea, served by the children, who then also accompanied Mrs Cooper for lunch.   Mrs Hartley has also retired after working at Ordsall for 20 years.  During the farewell assembly, Mrs Hartley was awarded ‘Reading Hero 2025’.  The award was presented by local bookshop owners from Wonderland Bookshop.  Congratulations Mrs Hartley.  Finally, we said farewell to Miss Moss, who has worked at Ordsall for 2 years and will be starting a new job in September.  We would like to thank Miss Moss for all her hard work and know that the children are really going to miss her.

During assembly this week, we presented our two raffle winners with their prizes.  Congratulations to our Phase 2 winner who was awarded a bike and our Phase 3 winner who was awarded an X-Box.

Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Hockney Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 99.5% attendance, and Johnstone Class led the way in Phase 3 with 98.8%.

We would like to wish all of our children, parents, carers and staff a restful and safe summer break.  For those moving on, we wish you the very best of luck in your next chapter, and to everyone else, we will see you when school re-opens to children on Wednesday 3rd September.
