OrdFest and Sponsored Trek: A Celebration of Community, Music and Charity

Thank you to everyone who joined us for our very first OrdFest! The sun shone (just about) and spirits soared as all 600 children from across the school came together for an unforgettable afternoon of music and singing. The atmosphere was filled with joy, pride and togetherness, showcasing just how special our school community truly is.
This year, we’ve continued to build on our successful fundraising efforts by supporting both our school and our chosen charity, Young Lives vs Cancer. Earlier in the year, Mrs Rouse took on an incredible challenge – a trek across Africa – raising money and awareness for this important cause.
Inspired by her dedication, the School Council led the way in organising a Sponsored Trek for the whole school, which took place today, and what a trek it was! We would like to say a huge WELL DONE to all the children for their fantastic efforts today. Collaboratively, we trekked an incredible 1,040 miles – the equivalent of travelling from Retford to Rome in a straight line!
Please could we kindly ask that all sponsorship money is brought into school by Tuesday 8th July 2025.
Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Hockney Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 99.5% attendance, and Picasso Class led the way in Phase 3 with 95.2%.
What an inspiring week at Ordsall Primary – full of community spirit, kindness and achievement!
