A Week of Celebration and Creativity

It’s been another brilliant week here at Ordsall, filled with achievement, creativity, and hands-on learning across the school.

First of all, congratulations to our Stars of the Week! These children have stood out for their commitment to our core RESPECT values – Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion, and Teamwork. We are so proud of each of you for the positive example you’re setting.

We’re also celebrating excellent attendance this week. A big well done to Hockney Class, who achieved a perfect 100% in Phases 1 and 2, and to Banksy Class, leading Phase 3 with an impressive 99.5%. What a fantastic start to the term!

In sporting news, our netball team continues to go from strength to strength, securing a 7–3 win against Sandringham Primary School. Their teamwork and determination on the court were clear to see – brilliant effort from everyone involved.

Across school, preparations for our VE Day commemorations are in full swing. The grounds are already looking fantastic with beautiful bunting and poppy displays – a huge thank you to the children and staff who’ve worked so hard to bring the theme to life.

Year 2 had a truly memorable Robin Hood Day with a visit from the Partake Theatre Company. The children were fully immersed in medieval life, dressing up and stepping into character for a fun and educational experience they won’t soon forget.

And in Reception, our learning has been inspired by the classic tale of Goldilocks and the Three Bears. As part of their work, the children made porridge and explored how its texture changed during cooking – the highlight, of course, was tasting it!

With so much going on across every phase, it’s shaping up to be another fantastic term at Ordsall. We can’t wait to share more in the weeks ahead!
