Enrichment

Play, Learn and Grow Together

At Ordsall Primary School, we believe that learning extends far beyond the classroom. Our enrichment programme plays a vital role in ensuring every child has the opportunity to Play, Learn and Grow Together, developing confidence, resilience, character and aspirations alongside academic success.

Our enrichment offer is carefully designed to complement the curriculum, broaden children's experiences and nurture their personal development. Whether through sport, music, leadership, educational visits, community projects or creative opportunities, we want every child to discover new interests, develop lifelong skills and create lasting memories.

Most importantly, we are committed to ensuring that every child can participate. We actively remove barriers by providing additional support, adapting activities where needed and offering financial assistance where appropriate so that disadvantaged pupils and pupils with SEND have the same opportunities as their peers.

Looking Ahead

Although we already provide a rich and varied enrichment programme, we are committed to continually improving what we offer.

During 2026-2027, our priorities are to:

Develop Strategic Oversight

We will introduce a whole-school tracking system that enables leaders to monitor participation across clubs, leadership opportunities, educational visits, residentials and wider experiences. This will help us identify children who may need additional encouragement or support to access enrichment opportunities.

Establish an Enrichment Entitlement

Every child deserves memorable experiences throughout their primary education. We are developing a clear enrichment entitlement that maps the key experiences every child will enjoy from Nursery to Year 6, ensuring every pupil benefits from a broad range of cultural, sporting, leadership and community opportunities.

Measure the Difference Enrichment Makes

We will strengthen how we evaluate the impact of enrichment through pupil voice, parent feedback, participation data and case studies. This will help us demonstrate how enrichment contributes to children's confidence, wellbeing, aspirations, sense of belonging and personal development.

Our Commitment

At Ordsall Primary School, enrichment is not an optional extra; it is a fundamental part of our curriculum and our vision for every child.

By providing high-quality experiences both inside and outside the classroom, we help children discover new talents, develop important life skills, build lasting friendships and create memories that will stay with them long after they leave our school.

Together, we ensure every child has the opportunity to Play, Learn and Grow Together.
