Library visits and community spirit

This week, several classes have visited Retford Library to explore and find out more about the services available. Some children joined the library and selected books to take home and read for pleasure. In the next few weeks, more classes will visit the library and staff members from the library will also visit some of our younger children here at school.
This Sunday, the Christmas lights will be switched on in Retord Town Centre. As part of the many events taking place in addition to this, there is a Star and Nativity Festival at Grove Street Methodist Church and a Tree Festival at St Swinthun's Church. We have a display at both of these events. Please support them if you can.
Today, some children took part in an orienteering competition at Worksop College. The children worked in pairs to navigate their way to points and complete the course in 20 minutes. One of our pairs achieved the maximum 200 points – the only pair to achieve this all day!
Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week for proudly displaying our RESPECT values: Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork.
Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Matisse Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 99.1% attendance, and Lowry Class led the way in Phase 3, also with 99.2%.
