A new half-term begins

We hope everyone had a restful half-term. It's been great to see and hear all the children talking about their half-term adventures. The week began with a visit from Retford Fire Station. The children in the Nursery and Reception classes spent time looking around the fire engine and listening to the firefighters talk about fire safety and keeping safe on Bonfire Night.
Thank you to everyone who has bought a poppy and supported the Royal British Legion in their work. Members of our School Council will attend the town's Remembrance Service on Sunday and lay a wreath on behalf of our school community.
Next week, we will start the week off wearing our Odd Socks. Odd Sock Day is a fun and meaningful event that marks the start of Anti-Bullying Week in the UK. On this day, people wear mismatched socks to celebrate their individuality and raise awareness about bullying. It encourages the acceptance of differences and promotes kindness and respect.
At the end of the week, on Friday 14th November, it is Children In Need. Children can wear non-uniform for a suggested donation of £1.
Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week for proudly displaying our RESPECT values: Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork.
Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Mondrian Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 98.1% attendance, and Banksy Class led the way in Phase 3, also with 97%.
