Whitby Residential and an Amazing Author visit.

This week, our Year 5's have spent time exploring Whitby, Scarborough and York.  Some of our pupils stayed in Whitby for a two-night residential, and on Wednesday all the three classes visited York.  Trips to The Dig and The Jorvik Centre were on the agenda to learn more about the Vikings!

On Thursday, we were extremely honoured and excited to have a visit to school from author and illustrator Rob Biddulph.  The children in Years 3 to 6 were captivated by Rob's visit, hearing about his life and journey to becoming an author and illustrator and, of course, 'Draw with Rob'.  All the children took part in a draw-along, creating their own unique owl. What a magical moment to witness!  Thank you to Wonderland Bookshop for organising the visit and also to Rob for his truly amazing storytelling.

A huge thank you also to everyone who joined us for our Macmillan Coffee Morning on Friday.  With the help of parents and staff, we raised £209 for Macmillan Cancer Support.

Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week for proudly displaying our RESPECT values: Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork.

A huge well done and congratulations to those children who have achieved a brick on the Wall of Success.  Keep up the great work!

Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Matisse Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 100% attendance, and Cliff Class led the way in Phase 3, with 98.7%.
