Reflect and Remember

Year 2 started the week off with a Knights and Castles experience day. The children went into battle, found out interesting facts and learnt about events leading up the Battle of Hasting in 1066. The children also dressed in costumes to reflect the era and time and carried out their 'knight training'.
Our Year 5 Belonging Ambassadors joined members of the Royal British Legion at All Hallows Churchyard to place photographs on graves to remember our fallen servicemen and women. Such a poignant and reflective moment, our children and staff were honoured to be invited.
Thank you to everyone who wore green on Wednesday and donated towards the NSPCC. Throughout the day, children took part in an online assembly 'Speak Out and Stay Safe', as well as activities and tasks within the classroom. We raised a fabulous £104.99.
Congratulations to all of our Stars of the Week for proudly displaying our RESPECT values: Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork.
A huge well done and congratulations to those children who have achieved a brick on the Wall of Success. Keep up the great work!

Finally, congratulations to our attendance champions this week: Seurat Class topped Phases 1 and 2 with a brilliant 99.5% attendance, and Warhol Class led the way in Phase 3, with 98.5%.
Enjoy the bank holiday weekend in Retford. For those attending Retford Charter Day, we hope the sun shines!
