Nursery

Our nursery is an integral part of Ordsall Primary School, enabling children to make a seamless transition into full-time education when they begin Reception. It consists of a large, spacious classroom and its own self-contained outdoor area, providing a bright, stimulating environment where children can play, learn and grow with full access to all areas of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.

We are proud that our nursery is led by a qualified teacher, supported by a team of highly experienced Early Years practitioners. Together, they provide high-quality learning experiences that help children make excellent academic, personal and social progress. Our nursery curriculum is carefully aligned with Reception, ensuring children develop the knowledge, skills and confidence needed for a successful start to school life.

We offer flexible nursery provision to meet the needs of families, with places available from the start of the school term following your child's third birthday. Children can join our nursery in September, January or April and attend either morning sessions, afternoon sessions or full-time, depending on their funded entitlement and availability.

We warmly encourage prospective parents and carers to visit our nursery and school. We are incredibly proud of our children and the learning opportunities we provide, and we recommend visiting during the school day to experience nursery life at Ordsall Primary School first-hand.

To arrange a visit, please contact our school office on 01777 702852 or email office@ordsallpri.notts.sch.uk.

Full-Day Provision (30 Hours Free Childcare)

Children attending under the 30 Hours Free Childcare entitlement attend from 8:45am until 3:15pm. A supervised lunchtime is included within the school day. Parents can either:

  • purchase a school meal (pre-ordered through the Arbor parent app); or
  • provide their child with a healthy packed lunch from home.

Additional Sessions

If you are not eligible for the 30 Hours Free Childcare entitlement but would like your child to attend additional nursery sessions, these may be available (subject to places) at a cost of £15 per additional 3-hour session.

Where children attend additional paid sessions across lunchtime, lunchtime supervision is included at no additional cost. However, parents will still need to either purchase a school meal or provide a packed lunch for their child.
