End of the 2023/24 academic year
Published 26/07/24As we come to the end of a remarkable school year, I am filled with immense pride and gratitude for the collective efforts that have made this year a success. Our school community has shown resilience, adaptability, and unwavering support throughout the year, and it is with great pleasure that I reflect on the accomplishments and highlights of the past months.
Academic success
Our children have demonstrated hard work and effort, and have been rewarded with the progress they have made as a result. From completing standardised tests to creative projects, the dedication to academic excellence has been evident.
Extracurricular activities
This year, we have seen remarkable participation in sports, arts, music, and various clubs. Our children have showcased their talents in numerous events, and, more importantly, have learnt valuable life skills such as teamwork, leadership and perseverance.
Community engagement
Ordsall Primary School has continued to strengthen its ties with the local community through various initiatives and projects. Whether it was raising incredible amounts of money for charities such as Dancing for Downs, or working with local business and professionals to provide experiences, our children have demonstrated a strong sense of civic responsibility.
Staff dedication
I would like to extend my heartfelt thanks to our dedicated teachers and staff. Their commitment to nurturing and guiding our children, especially during challenging times, has been instrumental in creating a positive and enriching learning environment. They really do want your child to ‘be the best that they can be’!
Parental support
The support and involvement of parents and carers have been invaluable. Your active participation in school activities and constant encouragement have greatly contributed to our children’s success and wellbeing.
Looking ahead
As we look forward to the next academic year, we are excited about the opportunities that lie ahead. We will continue to strive for excellence in all areas, focusing on developing our teaching methods, holistic development, specialist provision for children with special educational needs and disabilities, as well as our sporting opportunities.
Farewell to leaving staff and children
It is also a time to bid farewell to those who are leaving us this year. To our Year 6 children moving on to secondary school, we wish you all the best in your future endeavours. Remember, you will always be a part of our Ordsall family. To the staff members who are moving on to new adventures, we thank you for your invaluable contributions and wish you success in your future pursuits.
Summer holidays
As we enter the summer holidays, I encourage everyone to take this time to relax, rejuvenate, and spend quality time with loved ones. For our children, I hope you continue to explore, read, and stay curious over the holidays.
Finally, I want to express my deepest appreciation to each member of our school community. You have invited and welcomed me in to your precious school community, and for that I am truly thankful.
Wishing you a safe and enjoyable summer break.
