This Week at Ordsall: From Beach Trips to Big Ideas

What a wonderful week we’ve had at Ordsall!
Our Phase 2 Team Point winners enjoyed an exciting reward trip to Bridlington! Despite the unpredictable weather, the children managed to dodge the rain and had a fantastic time playing on the beach before tucking into a delicious chippy lunch. It was a lovely way to celebrate all their hard work and team effort this term – well done, everyone!
This week also saw our School Council elections take place across school. It was brilliant to see so many enthusiastic and confident children putting themselves forward for the role. I’ve heard fantastic things about the speeches – what a credit you all are! Congratulations to our newly elected councillors – we look forward to seeing the positive changes you will help bring about next year.
A huge shout-out to Year 3, who welcomed parents into school earlier in the week for a special creative session. Using recycled cardboard and a whole lot of imagination, families worked together to construct some incredible musical instruments. The teamwork, resilience, and creativity on display were a joy to witness – thank you to everyone who took part!
Lastly, a big well done to our class attendance champions this week:
- Phase 1 and 2 winner: Van Gogh – 98.4%
- Phase 3 winner: O’Keeffe – 97.4%
Both classes have exceeded our school target of 96%, and we’re so proud of your commitment to coming to school every day – keep it up!
Wishing everyone a restful weekend as we head into the final stretch of the summer term.
