Play, Learn and Grow Together - One Story at a Time

What a fantastic week we’ve had at Ordsall Primary School!

A huge well done to this week’s Stars of the Week, who have been recognised for living out our RESPECT values: Resilience, Effort, Support, Passion, Enrichment, Compassion and Teamwork. Your dedication and positive attitudes make our school shine – your efforts never go unnoticed!

Attendance matters, and this week’s top achievers have set the bar high. Renoir Class achieved a perfect 100%, and O’Keeffe Class reached an impressive 99.2% – fantastic work! A special class treat is on the way as a well-deserved reward.

On Tuesday, we were thrilled to welcome Cressida Cowell, author of the How to Train Your Dragon series. Her visit sparked imaginations across the school, with children enjoying inspiring storytelling, creative writing tips, and the chance to bring books to life. At Ordsall, we truly play, learn and grow together – one story at a time.

On Thursday, we celebrated the 80th anniversary of VE Day with a vibrant, whole-school commemoration. Children dressed in red, white, and blue, created poppies and bunting, and enjoyed themed learning activities across all phases. A special highlight was Phase 3’s aerial VE 80 photo, marking the occasion in spectacular style!

Also on Thursday, our School Council members attended a special event at All Hallows Church for the unveiling of a newly updated map of the Commonwealth War Graves. They represented our school with pride, joining veterans, local dignitaries, and family members in remembering those who served.

Another week of achievement, remembrance, and inspiration at Ordsall. Have a restful weekend!
