November 13th - 17th is National Anti-Bullying Week and we will be marking the week in a range of different ways in school. The week is co-ordinated by the Anti-Bullying Alliance and aims to raise awareness and educate children and families about bullying, its effects and how we can stand against it. Their slogan this year is "All Different, All Equal".
The children will take part in different activities throughout the week, in particular watching and discussing a series of videos that cover a range of themes. These videos are shown below so that you can view them too and talk to your child at home about what they have seen.
Our definition of bullying comes from the Anti-Bullying Alliance and is....
"The repetitive, intentional hurting of one person or group by another person or group, where the relationship involves an imbalance of power. Bullying can be physical, verbal or psychological. It can happen face-to-face or through cyberspace."
